Persecuted Cowards

If I asked you a question what would you say?
Would you tell me an answer or ponder the day.
Problems, so important, at the foot of the bay.
How can we resolve them and make them go away.

Let us look to each other, and remember a time.
When we were friends and our love was a crime.
You are black and I am white.
Don’t sit back, believe in the fight.

The dawn of a new age, with our rights at hand.
Cast a vote, and be part of this great land.
I am an Afro-American, just like you.
We are in a race that can decide a future of two.

Always at the end of the line, with no place of mine.
With this election, let’s make a decisive selection.
That will put us as equals, and not repeat a sequel.
Of putting the same people, in office and power.
Let us not be a nation of persecuted cowards.

America the Beautiful

The opportunity of hope bestows my youth.
This great country of mine has turned into a spoof.
How did I get left behind is the question I ask?
For a moment let me take off America’s mask.
To my dismay, my country has a placed a bet,.
To save the stockmarket and the CEOs jet.

So much suffering so much pain.
Can a saviour be found in Obama or McCain?
I make mimium wage, to pay my rent.
Then travel to the foodbank when the money is spent.
No credit, no loan, no bailout when my kids are sick.
Money given to wallstreet, another government trick?
Two weeks to become law and pass the money out.
Where are the folks to begin a protest and shout.

American the beautiful, how great we can be.
If the money could be used for healthcare pleas.
Universal heathcare for the young and the old.
How radical does that sound, can our country be bold?
If Wallstreet can be socialized by the government hand.
Where does an average American truly stand?

I’m happy to see we gave money to wealth,
And not to our Societys true health.
You and Me.

View from a Womb

Im listening closely for vibrations from the outside world.
Reaching and kicking I press my small growing body closer.
I can feel a warm soul and sensitive hand protecting me.
My heart is aching in anticipation to exit my surroundings.

Voices whisper around me with joyful discussions of What ifs?
My curious mind wonders, who will I meet on the outside?
What will they look like? Will they have eyes like me?
When will my time come to see their faces, and theirs mine?

As the days and months go by, the wait becomes unbearable.
There is not much room in here anymore, as I give a resounding kick.
I wait in anticipation to take my turn and enjoy my new life.
Until then I listen closely for their voices filled with laughter and love.

Lost Souls of the Living

As a young boy I look around me, I smell the stench of death on my skin.
I am in the midst of a cyclical genocide the world has forgotten.
My feet are the only means of rescue to carry me far away from this horror. My familys fortune is bankrupt. The randomness of death has chosen them.

Now all alone, I ask myself if the world will help us, has it forgotten?Feeding the nations of the rich is easy, feeding and helping the poor is a burden.  Believing we can learn lessons from history is a failing matter.History repeats itself, genocides will continue, as long as our memories can never forget.

We are the lost souls of the living. Only a second, attention of the media puts a spotlight on our plight. After the moment passes, my life continues as the world moves on. No country, no home, no family to call my own. Has the world forgotten the lost souls of the living?

The Mosaic of Life

We move about with vibrant energy ignoring those around us.
Only for a brief moment do we catch ourselves listening to others.
We move on from this distraction with great simplicity.
How did we get ourselves in this awful predicament?

The pace of life has kept us focused on the self and not the whole.
Wait to exhale feel the air rejuvenate your being look around.
See the mosaic of people in front, behind and beside you.
Relish, in their relationships, be involved in the communal surroundings.

There may be a million pieces to your journey of life.
Like a mosaic, every piece counts for it to be complete.
Take the day, dream about tomorrow, and remember yesterday.
Experiences every day can create a beautiful mosaic over a lifetime.

Times EGO

Unbridled and ruthless with no consideration for all,
Dragging through the days, pondering what will be next.
Joyful moments flash in milliseconds in detailed attention.
What will occur is unpredictable in a life’s journey.

Time is uncaring, inconsiderate, and unstoppable for every second that ticks.
It pushes forward, never to let us look back.
We can not travel to see our future or change the past.
Time laughs at its intrinsic ability to control our present.

Caution is the key; we must live fully and seize the present.
Never to forget the past, and to always dream of future possibilities.
Times EGO of ultimate control is addressed with laughter from many individuals.

These individuals laugh because they live life to the fullest.
They don’t let time pass them by.
They understand time is a fixture, and life is fulfillment.

Fate Calls It Love

Through the moments of time, we search for the great escape.
Only to find the center of our life is mundane.
The routine, the hellos, and goodbyes are the same.
Our randomness of meeting people involves our day.

For a chance moment or fortunes may turn.
The look, the scent, the thought may reflect our future.
Our minds make a choice in a seconds moment.
Two people begin to cover themselves in mystery.

One life emerges, two souls, dance, a couple blossoms.
A commitment is made for a fruitful lifetime journey.
A family commences and from love, a new life begins.
Our soul connections are based on fate, and fate calls it love.

A Life, What is it Worth?

Look around see the places you haven’t seen.
Listen closely, and you will hear the cries of the needy.
Look into their eyes, and feel their spirit begging to come alive.
What do you see? A life, what is it worth?

Are we consumed with our driven society?
Contentment can not be had with the purchases we’ve made.
Leave the tangibles behind, grab hold of life.
Be part of the human spirit, help others achieve their greatness.

In doing so, you will visit places you haven’t seen.
You will hear the heartbeat of the world, and be part of the fulfilled.
Your spirit will come alive, and you will achieve something intangible.
Life is a grain of sand in the universes hourglass.  Spend it well.

Forget Me Not

The wind bellows and brushes my cheek.
Loved ones gather I hold my breath no longer can I speak.
Looking upwards, I see a peaceful light.
With hands welcoming me forward. I go with all my might.

I’m drawn away from my past never to be forgotten.
I cherish my time and will think of loved ones often.
Do not shed a tear, but forget me not.
Our lives follow a course and we are in the same lot.

Remember the moments, the cheers, love, and laughter.
These are the memories you can take in the thereafter.
The ground is cold and wet, as I sink deep.
It is time for my body to take a restful sleep.

One Nation One Mind

Holding a history of memories in my hand and heart.
Whereupon a country was taken and torn apart.
Calling upon the pride and past of a great nation.
Stand up take notice, as time moves fast.

For my people, it is a calling of One Nation One Mind.
A peoples desire to live, and have a cultural bind.
However, in today’s society will the new nation be respected?
Can the world help us, and the will of the people be protected?

Walking the streets of past generations, the military is emerging.
Can we win this violent fight? It can be quite discouraging.
I look up and take notice of a sign that reads English shit.
One day, One Nation, One Mind, but we must first submit.
