If I asked you a question what would you say?
Would you tell me an answer or ponder the day.
Problems, so important, at the foot of the bay.
How can we resolve them and make them go away.
Let us look to each other, and remember a time.
When we were friends and our love was a crime.
You are black and I am white.
Don’t sit back, believe in the fight.
The dawn of a new age, with our rights at hand.
Cast a vote, and be part of this great land.
I am an Afro-American, just like you.
We are in a race that can decide a future of two.
Always at the end of the line, with no place of mine.
With this election, let’s make a decisive selection.
That will put us as equals, and not repeat a sequel.
Of putting the same people, in office and power.
Let us not be a nation of persecuted cowards.
